I know there are some mods out there that have "secrets" built into the code. I'm not talking about hidden weapons or stuff like that, I mean things more like the "we're not wearing any pants" screen in the first SOD. Does anyone know of any specific mods that have hidden goodies in them that are accessed secretly? If so, any idea how to access the secrets? Very Happy

I have some in War Storm, like if you use goobers in the start up it won't let you play because it says "You are cheating, aren't you?" all the time, though you can still exit. That is the only one I will spill, because there will be more, if memory allows.

I think I'll let loose the secret command lines for Extremeties. I'll keep them up for awhile, then kill them off, so not too many people get them.

Code:

iwantmoretokens - hold upto 150 ammo
iamtherabbit    - enemies move slower
hushpuppies     - you don't make any noise
iamthehulk      - Knife does alot of damage
iamtoonoisy    - Player makes noise, even when using the knife
ireusemyammo   - Infinite Ammo cheat
ineverlose   - Infinite lives

And if any are activated, something like this will appear on the dos window when the program starts:

Code:

**************************
Cheat Active - Hold more ammo
**************************

And an official 'Easter egg' is when the game of Wolf3D full version starts up, hold down 'M', this will bring up the patented 'Robert's Jukebox'.

Halls of Stonehenge and Operation: Hundschiesse both have built in secrets. I won't tell you how to access them as that would be a spolier for anyone who reads this. I'll send Matt an email and ask him about the other stuff that we worked on. For the life of me, I can't remember if we added one to OL or to OMS1/2.

I'll have to check those out. I love a challenge. At very least, every mod should at least replace the "not wearing any pants" screen art with something new so that there's always a secret of some sort. Of course, in game secrets are fun too, I won't deny that.

That must be an in-game secret...secret area? I haven't really played that game much, and I've never been very good at finding super secrets...

Yup, the one from OL is an in-game secret and not an Easter egg. It's much like the outhouse/alien secret that appears in Outlaws.

I got an email back from Majik, and as suspected, the only two Easter eggs in his games are the ones I mentioned earlier.

I have run across a couple of games that have hidden extra levels that can only be accessed by warping. I wouldn't exactly call that an Easter egg either. Some people who use MapEdit, use the letters to type in hidden messages in their maps, but those are few and far between. Again, not exactly an Easter egg.

I played Operation: Hundschiesse for a while and almost beat it I think. The secret though was in the manual and was easy to figure out though I didn't figure out where to use the information it gave me. I also found a hidden level in the game it didn't talk about that was pretty cheaply hidden. I got to what the manual says is the end but keep getting killed after I grab the "spear". The end is kind of BS it's so hard, but I wanted to see what the Angel of Death is in the game (since it's Spear based I'm assuming there is an Angel of Death to finish the game). No clue what the Halls of Stonehenge secret is and I couldn't open it in an editor. I'm glad though because I hate spoiling things.

Um...I know some off color terms that closely match that, but I can't imagine putting that in a game...well, I can imagine other people putting that in a game, but I wouldn't go there...

Same here. ;)

Also, many games has swastika lights and walls formed as them. In "Chemical Warfare", level 27, you come to a room accessed with a key found in a secret, and in the room is nothing - just tons of ceiling light. If you turn your head around in editors, they say "RIMMER". What that means, is unknown.

The word does have a purpose, play around and maybe you'll find it. I love that room! Smile

OMS2 has a bit of an Easter Egg, I guess. Though it all depends on what you consider one to be. I remember programming it in. Matt has probably even forgotten about it. Laughing

What kind of easter egg? You don't have to spoil, but I wonder what to look for. I don't think I've played that game though. I looked at some mods for hidden words on maps spelled with stuff but have found none yet. Maybe I am using the wrong editors? I cannot open Halls of Stonehenge at all. I did look at Operation Letzerschutz in some of it's maps and I think I found a secret. I think one level in Episode 3 uses the board from the board game Clue as the level, or at least for part of it. It might have been level 2, I will have to check again. I have found "words" in some of the Lost Episodes maps too but most are quite lame. Still looking for stuff.

An easter egg like SOD, but without a picture. Just some funny sayings. Might not even be worth the time to hunt it down.
