I think he was a very good mapper in our community. I haven't played most of his add-ons, cause when I entered first time in Mr Lowe, there already "a lot coded" games, and the newest was Operation Heimzahlung. But there are some I entered to see how is. With FloEdit you can see the perfection of his maps.

Sorry, but I only use FloEdit for sounds
Not even graphics?

I don't use ChoasEdit, it screws my stuff up.

Re: John Bucksnort's Maps Yes, these were very special. They mostly didn't have so many floor codes, very small passages, many nice details and keys in nearly hard to find secrets. It was mostly in the middle of his carrer, where he also was inspired by Doom sounds and graphics.
What do you think of his maps?
John started off with some addons that had mainly original graphics but quickly went on to those featuring a mix of original, new and Spear graphics. The sounds were changed too - his sounds had harder and sharper sounds than in the originals.
The levels were always done well. He had his own style but the levels did have a lot of variation. Some things were often there though - like lots of small rooms that were well decorated and the faster moving guards were used the most. And as Possum said - keys were sometimes found in secret rooms.
John made 25 addons and introduced addon making to his wife Lakota and grandson Bobby. John also shared a lot of ideas with Harry L. Mass Senior who also made many good addons.
