Maybe we should finish wolfendoom 2 before telling people to e-mail you if they find secrets
Corran Horn- 09-13-2005
It is finished, dude. I have not played it yet though because I have not finished Wolfendoom I yet. The manual reading took me much of the time for playing the game I might have used. Are we meant to look at your maps for the secrets or try to find them in the game? I doubt it will be me as I don't spend time looking for secrets much anymore, just play the games.
Dr. Chainsaw- 09-13-2005
Yep that's a different one. There was something at DHW about two diffenet wolfendoom2's.
Corran Horn- 09-13-2005
Well, heck...how's a guy supposed to know his head from his arse when there are two mods out there floating around with the same name? Similar names is one thing, but this is madness. I wasn't really planning on playing either one though I guess, so it matters not.
Corran Horn- 09-13-2005
Just out of curiosity, is there such a thing as a secret that's not hidden? It seems like the phrase "hidden secrets" is kind of redundant...doesn't it seem redundant? Oh, damn...I'm babbling again...shut up, Corran! Take your medication and sit down!
Dr. Chainsaw- 09-13-2005
If it's not hidden it's not a sercret.
Corran Horn- 09-13-2005
That's what I thought...I'm glad this secret has been explained...or was it ever a secret to begin with? Who knows...

Don't like sequels myself as they almost inevitably cash in on the success of the original, unless they are done by the original author (jmo). I did a special 60-level set using Wolfendoom as a base. It was only released to three people, one of those being Steve (AReyeP). Why didn't I release it to the public? Steve worked too long and too hard on that for me to cash in on his name. Even if he gave me permission to release it to the masses, I still wouldn't. Again... jmo
As for secrets, I classify them two ways:
1.) Open secrets - which are secrets that the player can see into from an open area, but have to figure out how to access
2.) Hidden secrets - Totally hidden from view in all respects.

How about rename it too Wolfendoom 3? Or something other DOOM-related? - I am talking to Conner93 and Commander Keen.
I asked Keen about the other wolfendoom 2 and he said he may name it wolfendoom3. But I read the endart 2 josh's wolfendoom2 and it said he was gonna make a wolfendoom3. Arg 2 many wolfendooms!!
Steve worked too long and too hard on that for me to cash in on his name. Even if he gave me permission to release it to the masses,
Yeah I agree, I think josh's wolfendoom2 was just riding off the name. It would be ok but it didn't live up to the original.
Commander Keen- 09-14-2005
Wait, wait, wait, lemme explain this.It was a unffortunate event. If Joshua could just announce his WolfenDoom 2 we would't started making it.It looks like that we just have to make WolfenDoom 3.So what's the big deal that Joshua is making a sequel,he didn't said that he will name it WolfenDoom 3,he named it WolfenDoom:Armaggedon. And if he finishes
that mod faster than we can finish WolfenDoom 3,his WolfenDoom will be something like Expansion set for WolfenDoom 2.Problem solved. :D
Dr. Chainsaw- 09-14-2005
He did announce it on DHW. But it was after you sent that thing 2 the dome about you preposing one.
You won Possum!Congrats.!We will make WolfenDoom 3.Sorry Conner.

Wolfendoom 2 was colorful but too much of the same patterns were used to often, hard on the eyes. Playable with cheats after level 3 just to end it faster. Too much of the same floor code used. Nothing like Wolfendoom or ack's version IMO. Good for persons who prefer to shoot shoot shoot.
A person can't help but copy names that have excellent recognition so I don't fault you for giving your mod a version number. But, it really isn't anything like the original and deserves it's own name.
Thank you and all for making these mods though. Without you, I'd have nothing new to play.
